Kilmartin Museum is a small museum with a big presence.
It was set up in 1997, in the basement of an old manse to provide a place where visitors to Kilmartin Glen could go to find out more about the areas history and numerous monuments.
Over the years it has become home to an internationally important collection of Bronze Age and Neolithic artefacts and a wide reaching Education and Outreach Service working with schools and community groups across Argyll.
Kilmartin Museum was and still is an independent charity. We rely on external funding and income from our ticket sales, café and shop in order to continue to operate.
Every year as costs rise, the funding and income we do receive, covers less of the overheads to keep the old manse building and converted steading operational and functional as a museum and visitor attraction.
You can find out more about how we intend to address this on our redevelopment page. In the meantime, we really do rely on your support to keep the Museum open and functioning.
