Kilmartin Glen is one of the world’s most significant archaeological sites. There are thousands of years of history and natural history to explore in this beautiful landscape.
For over 20 years, Kilmartin Museum has been discovering, caring for and sharing the stories of artefacts from this special place, but we have outgrown our current buildings and our facilities are no longer adequate. To resolve these challenges, we have embarked on an ambitious and exciting project to extend the Museum buildings and create new facilities that will enable us to continue our important work.
The project will cost around £7.2 million. A total of £3.5m has been granted by the National Heritage Lottery Fund, and we have raised £3.7 million from other public body funders, through donations and pledges from private individuals and trusts.
With your help we can build a new Museum to create a suitable home for Argyll’s unique and special artefacts – whether currently in our care or yet to be found. We invite you to be part of this.

Thank you to all who have purchased plaques; we have reached our total capacity for the smaller plaques and are about to go into production. A small number of plaques are still available in the £5,000-£10,000 price range. Contact the museum for details.
£5,000 TO £10,000 DONATION
Your name will be inscribed on a bronze donor’s plaque in the new museum and you will also receive everything listed below.
£300 DONATION
Two invitations to the museum launch event, a guided tour of the museum for yourself and up to four friends, and everything listed below.
£50 DONATION
Free entry to the new museum for a whole year, one museum visit for up to three guests and your name in our donors’ book.
£20 DONATION
One entry to the new museum and your name in our donors’ book.
