Wooden Spoon Carving

One day event workshop
10.30am to 3.15pm with one hour break for lunch

Oly, John and Ian from the local spoon carving club the ‘Fyne Stirrers’ will guide you through the process of carving a spoon. Starting with a spoon blank, you’ll be shown how to use various knives and grips to carve a spoon. You’ll also learn about wood types, grain orientation and various techniques to decorate your spoon. The four-hour workshop will also cover tool sharpening, tool selection and a demonstration of axe work.

In this one-day workshop participants will have the opportunity to carve a spoon and will have a working knowledge of all aspects of spoon carving.

There are only 12 places available on this one-day workshop

Minimum age for participants is 16 years.
